I have been searching for my mother
The mother of my creative root

I spread open a wad of paper-cut flower that looks like a map
I search on it for the origin of my life

Paper-cut --- the most common creative expression used by Chinese mothers
Paper --- emerged in the 8th century; in the East Han Dynasty in Shaanxi, Tsai Lun made papers
Red --- represent the eternal warmth from the maternal glow

Taiwan? A name of uncertainty
Colonialism, replacement, rotation, eradication, marginalization

History is far away from me
How do I turn back to search for it?
